My First Shorthand Wiring

To learn shorthand I am posting today in shorthand.
It takes a long time to write but I am getting there slowly.
The questions is can I read it?
It seems to be like texting which is a shame.
Once upon a time there was a man called Bob who lived in a box.
There are three ways to skin a cat.
Here we go round the mulberry bush, the mulberry bush, the mulberry bush.
This is the way we brush our hair.

  1. Yes! I thought I was the only one looking at shorthand tutorials online (why is there so little out there??) and actually felt a bit weird about it, but I was having the exact same problem with my handwriting. I also thought I must have been an idiot for choosing Alpha in spite of the much more popular Gregg, Teeline, and Pitman stuff out there, but again: same conclusion. Gregg was going great till I realized I had no freaking idea what I had written when I looked at it later, and the others... just sort of impractical seeming for other reasons. I found the same Alpha pdf you did and thought it made the most sense. I am doing it a ton now, and while I still can't read my writings as quickly as I'd like, it's getting better. I find myself enjoying writing again for the first time in a long time. Your example looks great, did you make a few personal modifications/additional symbols like I did?

  2. Sadly, I did not put enough effort in and I've ended up forgetting most of it. Sadly, I can no longer read what I wrote in the image!!!

I must pick it up again, I did get quite good at it and found it very useful.

Yes, I'm sure I did create a few extra symbols...by accident rather than design I think!
