Who's who?
Today I received a letter (paper letter)...very professional looking.
We are in the process of compiling the current edition of Who's Who of Britain's Business Elite, due to be published in February 2008.

Your entry is in recognition of your contribution to the business community and serves as an important reference for others. Entry into any of our publications is by nomination and selection only, according to strictly determined criteria, and is not conditional whatsoever of any payment to, or purchase from our organisation.

Presumably, it's a scam, right? A vanity publishing scam...the "strictly determined" criteria is presumably "whoever replies to the letter". It feels all too like this one

Update: it seems that quite a few people have come to this blog entry searching for information about this who's who thing.
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about it. All I know is that a lot of people I know got the letter. I suspect that the source of the information is the published records at companies house.
I would not ever buy/read the publication (assuming it even exists). I don't think that anyone else will ever read it/refer to it. I would rather my name did not appear in it, but since my name does appear in published records of companies house, I don't really care.
Bin it...move on...focus on relevant things.
